MLB Spring Training at Walt Disney World Resort

Princesses, princes, world-class resort hotels, Mickey Mouse and his pals, world-famous attractions and delicious Disney dining. These are all things that come to mind when one thinks of Walt Disney World Resort.

But, what about Major League Baseball?

Every spring the Atlanta Braves pack up their gear and head south to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort to enjoy a month of training for the upcoming professional baseball season. Teams such as the defending World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees all venture to Champion Stadium at the international sports complex, making Walt Disney World a perfect stop for fans — and anyone else who enjoys a nice day at the ballpark — during March.

In fact, the Atlanta Braves have made the sports complex at Walt Disney World the team’s Spring Training home since 1997.

If you haven’t had the chance to catch a game, be sure to take a look at the schedule and pencil one in during your vacation. Lawn seating is great place to catch some rays (and maybe a foul ball) while suite and group ticket options make entertaining a group for a birthday party or other special celebration a breeze.  Fans also can pick up some baseball-themed specialty apparel, merchandise, jerseys and more at the ESPN Clubhouse Shop at the complex.
